Despite this, he expects the business to be “up and running” by the summer, and for the first products to hit the shelves sometime before the end of the year.

Mr Campbell was able to expand slightly on his premise, telling the Times his business would be aimed at the “young dynamic male”.

“I want to build up a business that has that high-end-performance feel,” he continued at a pace.

“When we’ve built up that reputation, we can bring it to the middle market,” he said, adding that retailers should be “quite young, funky and dynamic, but nonexclusive”.Alan Sugar - Entrepreneur

It is thought that Mr Campbell is in negotiations with Far-Eastern companies specialising in suits and shoes, and that he intends for his business to be modelled on Virgin and Dunhill - brands which associate their name with other companies in order to strengthen a product’s standing in the marketplace.

The project will be funded by £25,000 Mr Campbell has saved while working for Sir Alan Sugar at Amstrad.

Sir Alan has so far steered clear of offering any financial assistance for the project.
