Durham Initiative Finds Entrepreneurial Family

A family from Durham has won a local competition to find a household of entrepreneurs.

The Bradleys, from Langley Park, were rewarded with a laptop for their idea of providing free internet service to schools to enable them to distribute newsletters.

They will also receive help from a local business advisor, who will aid them in their attempt to get their company Emu’s E-news up and running.

“We are absolutely delighted, it is a concept we feel very strongly about, and something we would really like to see become reality,” Mrs Bradley told the Northern Echo.

The event - called Family’s Fortune - put the Bradleys put up against eight other families, and was presided over by a group of judges that included entrepreneur Claire Bromley and the Northern Echo’s Business Correspondent Deborah Johnson.

It was part of a wider initiative by Business Link County Durham to cultivate new business ventures in the area and emphasise the idea that anyone can be an entrepreneur.
